High starting torque, low starting current
ABBNMK slip ring motors are the ideal solution for applications requiring high starting torque and low starting current, especially for heavy duty applications such as mill drives or poor network conditions.
The NMK slip ring motor minimizes the mechanical stresses at start-up, extending the life of the drive unit and allowing the motor to provide high torque over the entire speed range for increased availability.
The NMK slip ring motor uses a welded base with a shaft height of 400-500mm. It has two cooling modes, IC611 and IC616, and IP55 protection. The frequency can be selected from 50Hz or 60Hz. It can be IEC or NEMA. It can be installed horizontally with a rated power of up to 2,650kW.
