The common motors of robots include three kinds: ordinary DC motor, servo motor and stepper motor.
1. DC motor output or input for DC energy of the rotating motor, called DC motor, it is to realize the DC energy and mechanical energy conversion of the motor. When it operates as a motor, it is a DC motor that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy; when operating as a generator, it is a DC generator that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy.
2. Servo motor The servo motor, also known as the executive motor, is used as an execution element in the automatic control system to convert the received electrical signal into angular displacement or angular speed output on the motor shaft. It is divided into two categories: DC and AC servo motor. Its main characteristic is that when the signal voltage is zero, and the speed decreases uniformly with the increase of torque.
3. Stepper motor Stepper motor is an open loop control element that transforms the electric pulse signal into angular displacement or line displacement. In the case of non-overload, the motor speed and the position of the stop only depend on the frequency and number of the pulse signal, and are not affected by the load change, that is, add a pulse signal to the motor, and the motor turns a step Angle. The existence of this linear relationship, coupled with the stepping motor only periodic error and no cumulative error characteristics.
It is very simple to control the change with the stepping motor. Beginners generally do not understand the microcontroller control motor, start can first use the SCM output PWM signal to control the DC motor, further can try to control the stepper motor, in order to higher control precision. For the motor drive of the car, the DC motor or the stepping motor can be selected generally, and the servo motor is generally used on the mechanical arm, used to get the precise rotation Angle.
