Supply voltage and current range of the MA-2208 stepper motor driver

Supply voltage and current range of the MA-2208 stepper motor driver

To use the MOONS MA-2208 stepper motor driver, you need to make the following preparations: 80-265VAC AC power control signal source of suitable power, and safety grounding for best performance.

Power connection: If your power output does not have a fuse or some other device that limits the short-circuit current, you can place a proper-fuse quick-blow fuse (no more than 10Amps) between the power supply and the drive to protect the drive and power supply. The fuse is connected in series between the live wire of the power supply and the L interface of the drive.

Connect the live wire of the power supply to the L connector of the drive and the neutral wire of the power supply to the N connector of the drive. Connect the ground wire of the power supply to the power ground connector of the drive. The power interface is 3PIN. Please be careful not to connect the wrong one. In particular, do not connect the power supply to the stepper motor interface. The damage caused by the wrong connection of the power supply cannot be guaranteed.

Voltage: The MA-2208 is not a wide range of AC input drivers in a strict sense. In order to ensure good performance and take into account the +-15% fluctuation of the power supply grid voltage, the recommended input voltage is 80VAC-138VAC, 150VAC-265VAC. For the paragraph, the specific alarm and protection points are as follows:

The 120VAC version has an input voltage range of 80VAC-138VAC. The driver supply voltage can work normally in this range without alarm and error. If the voltage is below 80VAC, an undervoltage warning will be issued, but the drive will still work and the drive below 70VAC will not work. If the pressure is higher than 138VAC, an overvoltage warning will be issued. When the 155VAC is reached, the drive will give an overvoltage error. At this time, the drive will turn off the motor current output, and wait for the signal to recover after the overvoltage fault is removed.

Note: When the power supply exceeds 155VAC, the drive will not be damaged, but it may damage the motor. Please select the corresponding motor according to the power supply voltage.

The 220VAC version has an input voltage range of 150VAC-265VAC. The driver supply voltage can work normally in this range without alarm and error. An undervoltage warning will be issued if it is below 150VAC, but the drive will still work. If the pressure is higher than 265VAC, an overvoltage warning will be issued. When the 295VAC is reached, the drive will give an overvoltage error. At this time, the drive will turn off the motor current output, and wait for the signal recovery after the overvoltage fault is removed.

Note: When the power supply exceeds 295VAC, the motor driver may be damaged or the motor may be damaged at the same time. Please select the corresponding motor according to the power supply voltage and take corresponding measures to limit the power supply voltage to protect the drive.

Current: The maximum supply current should be the sum of the two phase currents. Normally, the current required depends on the motor model, voltage, speed and load conditions.
