2.A4988

ALLEGRO company, this company is still famous for stepping motor drive IC, small package, such as QFN/LQFP; small instrument, power requirements can be used. A4988 official manual describes the drive current can reach 2A, but in actual use, 24V power supply, 1A current is very hot, if it reaches 2A current, it is estimated to be a good heat dissipation system. The A4988 supports 2, 4, 8, and 16 subdivisions.

Control interface: step/direction

Advantages: simple circuit; simple control; low price.

Disadvantages: Test the use process, always inexplicably burn the chip, did not find the problem at all, the latter product is not used again; the drive current is small, suitable for stepper motors below 42.

3.DRV8825

Texas Instruments (TI) company, analog device overlord, motor series (stepper motor, brush motor, brushless motor, etc.) a lot of chips, is still good. The overall performance of the DRV8825 is similar to that of the A4988. The subdivision supports 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32 subdivisions. May be related to wiring or program control, the noise is very large, and the latter products are not used.

Control interface: step/direction

Advantages: The circuit is simple and the program control is simple.

Disadvantages: The drive current is small and the noise is relatively large (may be related to PCB wiring).

4.TMC246/TMC249

TRINAMIC company, the German company, specializing in motor drive chips, the German 佬 things really good. 246 is a built-in mos tube, 249 external mos tube, the two control programs are fully compatible, but the circuit difference is relatively large. High requirements can be considered, the price is more expensive, the same driver chip is the highest, of course, the performance is basically, as for the good use, who knows who!

Control interface: SPI

Advantages: simple circuit; simple program control; high efficiency and very high, 246 built-in mos tube, low heat; 249 external mos tube can drive high current motor; low noise, smooth motion.

Disadvantages: expensive; high wiring requirements, hardware engineer design is to design 4 layers;

5.TMC260/TMC2660/TMC262

Produced by TRINAMIC, the company's new series models have improved performance in all aspects, such as higher drive current, higher subdivision, and support for up to 256 subdivisions (although such high subdivisions are of little use). . If the TMC series is recommended to use the TMC2660, the price is relatively cheap; the high-power TMC262 is required, and this external mos tube is fully compatible with the control program.

Control interface: step / direction and spi, you can only use spi, the relevant configuration parameters can only use spi. The use of the monk is to control the step/direction of the motor, and the parameter configuration uses the spi bus.

Advantages: Large drive current, smooth motion (but feels no TMC246 and 249, possible wiring problems?), the price is actually cheaper than 246 and 249.

Disadvantages: expensive, wiring is a little troublesome.

6.L6470

STMicroelectronics (ST), ST new products. I have not used it, my colleagues have been tested, from the manual, more powerful, high current (peak current 7A), built-in speed curve, hardware origin, etc., interested can go to test.
