Relationship between motor torque and performance
Torque is an important parameter of the motor. The torque under different conditions reflects the different performance of the motor. The motor torque includes rated torque, starting torque, stall torque and maximum torque. Today, Ms. participates in a knowledge sharing. .
Motor torque and performance
Rated torque
At rated voltage and rated load, the torque generated on the motor shaft is called the rated torque of the motor.
Starting torque
The moment the motor is applied to the motor in the stopped state, the torque generated by the motor is called the starting torque. The starting torque characterizes the starting ability of the motor, which is related to the starting mode (such as step-down starting, AC motor frequency conversion speed starting, winding motor series resistance starting, etc.).
For the squirrel cage motor that is directly started, the starting torque is generally 0.8-2.2 times the rated torque. Normally, the starting torque should be 1.25 times the rated torque, and the corresponding starting current is 5-6 times the rated current.
For large DC motors, the starting torque is particularly large, so the starting current is also large, so large DC motors should not be started directly, and should be started with a reduced voltage. The exception is small DC motors and permanent magnet motors.
Maximum torque
The maximum torque is the junction point between the motor torque stable zone and the unsteady zone. If the load torque is greater than the maximum torque, the output torque of the motor will become smaller and enter the stalled state. At this point, the current will be large and the motor will be burned.
Stall torque
After the motor enters the locked state, the speed is zero, and the torque that the motor can output is the stall torque.
