Relationship between different state torques
The maximum torque is greater than the rated torque, but the stall torque of the asynchronous motor may be greater than the maximum torque or less than the rated torque. The former is due to the different motor parameters of the stalled state and the maximum torque state. It is determined according to the actual working conditions.
The ratio of the maximum torque to the rated torque reflects the overload capability of the motor.
The maximum torque and the stall torque are two important performance indicators to measure the performance of the motor, and should be reasonably selected according to the actual working conditions.
The greater the maximum torque, the stronger the overload capability of the motor, but the motor volume and material will also increase.
It is beneficial to have a large stall torque, especially for large motors. Generally, the moment of inertia of the motor is relatively large. If the stall torque is relatively large, the motor starts more quickly and the rotation is more comfortable. However, the locked torque is not as large as possible. Excessive blocking torque will cause harmful impact on the equipment, and the starting current of the motor will increase a lot, causing a great impact on the power grid.
Therefore, when designing the motor, it is necessary to select an appropriate value and reserve a certain margin according to the actual working conditions. Under normal circumstances, the locked torque multiple is selected from 1.8--2.2. The maximum torque multiplier is selected from 2.0 to 2.8 (depending on the size of the motor).
