New twist in industrial knitting

New twist in industrial knitting

All of this began with the idea of speeding up the textile manufacturing process by producing yarn directly on the knitting machine. The result is a revolutionary Corizon process that allows operators to develop and fine-tune yarn and material properties directly on the machine. It creates new fabrics and garments that provide maximum wearing comfort.

Yarn production and industrial knitting processes are not new in themselves. The first industrial spinning and knitting equipment appeared in the late 18th century. As of 1871, Charles Terrot's company had delivered its 500th circular knitting machine. These machines are used to produce knitted underwear, which sets new standards in terms of quality and efficiency.

150 years later, Terrot launched its latest development at the ITMA 2015, ready to lead the revolution in textile production. Until now, the idea of initially shortening the textile manufacturing process has been surpassed by even more substantial benefits. “This new technology gives the sewing machine more freedom and brings him closer to the needs of its customers,” explains Thomas Mutschler, managing partner at Terrot. “With Coridon yarn, he is able to directly control the properties of the finished fabric, so it can be produced in the way you want.
