Motor noun explanation and voltage introduction
The terminology of the motor is explained:
A motor is a machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy; if the electrical energy is alternating current, the motor is an alternating current motor, and if the electrical energy is direct current, it is a direct current motor. In most cases, there is an AC power source, and then the AC power is converted into DC power through a rectifying device. For example, hydropower, wind power, nuclear power, thermal power plants, etc., which we often see, produce electricity from AC power.
The motor is used in a wide range. Moreover, this trend is more pronounced as the standard of living increases and the level of automation increases as humans become more “lazy”.
Unless otherwise specified, the motor referred to herein refers to an optical motor without a reducer.
Voltage (VOLTAGE): International unit is Volt, V
This voltage can be either alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC) and corresponds to AC and DC motors, respectively. The maximum voltage of the generator can reach more than 100,000 volts. This high voltage facilitates the transmission of electricity and reduces the loss during power transmission. Its disadvantage is that it is very dangerous. Lower voltages, such as the DC voltages we use often from small dry batteries, are used to drive low power DC motors.
In our current motors, the voltage of the AC motor is: 24V, 100V, 110V, 115V, 120V, 200V, 220V, 230V, 240V, 380V, 400V, 415V, and so on. These voltages can be single phase or three phase.
The DC motor voltage is: 12V, 24V, 36V, 48V, 90V, 110V, 220V.
In theory, motors other than the above voltages can be designed and produced.
