Motor energy saving measures

Recently, the electric motor is an indispensable production equipment for various industrial and mining enterprises. How to reduce the energy consumption, save energy and maximize the efficiency of the motor in production? It should be considered from the following aspects.

Reasonable selection of motor type. Y series motor is a new series of products designed by the whole country. It is a relatively advanced asynchronous motor in China. Its advantages are high efficiency, energy saving and good starting performance. When buying a new motor, you should first consider the use of energy-efficient brands, and then consider other performance indicators as needed to save energy.

Reasonable selection of the rated capacity of the motor. The state has specified the following three operating areas for three-phase asynchronous motors: the load rate is between 70% and 100% for the economic operation area; the load rate is between 40% and 70% for the general operating area; the load rate is 40%. The following are non-economic operating areas. If the motor capacity is chosen too large, although the equipment can be operated normally, it not only increases the investment, but also its efficiency and power factor are very low, resulting in waste of electricity. Therefore, considering that it can meet the needs of equipment operation and increase the efficiency as much as possible, the general load rate is preferably 60% to 100%.

Energy-saving retrofit of old-fashioned electric motors: (1) Replace the external fan of the electric motor and change the external fan of the electric motor to energy-saving type. For different types of electric motors, there are corresponding energy-saving fan products to choose from, mainly used for single-direction operation. The pole and 4-pole motors can improve efficiency by 1.35% to 2.55%. (2) Increase the cross-sectional area of the wire with a new insulating material. For high-pressure motors with asphalt mica with dipped insulation, epoxy glass powder mica tape insulation can be used to save energy when the stator coil is overhauled.

Frequency control of the motor. Adopt other continuous speed control modes, use voltage regulator, pole-changing motor, electromagnetic coupling governor, frequency conversion speed control device, etc.

Increase the voltage of the motor. When the asynchronous motor is lightly loaded, reducing its external power supply voltage can save energy.

Improve the power factor. Parallel connection of a proper amount of capacitors at the output end of the asynchronous motor for reactive power compensation can improve the power factor, reduce the reactive power loss, and effectively save energy.
