Introduction to the food processor

Food processor, is the kitchen utensils used to facilitate the preparation of repetitive task food. Today, although some manual devices are also referred to as "food processors", the term almost always means "electric equipment".

Food processors are similar to blenders in many ways. Unlike blenders, food processors usually require little liquid during use, while blenders require a certain amount of liquid to allow the blade to stir the food correctly. Food processors are used for mixing, chopping, cutting, and slicing, allowing for faster preparation of meals.

The Function of a food processor

Food processors often have multiple functions, depending on the location and type of attachment or blade.

Design and operation

The bottom of the unit is equipped with a motor that rotates on the vertical axis. Bowls usually made of transparent plastic are placed around the shaft. Cutting blades can be mounted on the shaft; they are suitable for operation near the bottom of the bowl. Attach chop or slice disks; these rotate near the top of the bowl. Then load the lid with the "feed pipe" onto the bowl. Ineding tubes allow ingredients to be added when chopped or sliced. It is also used as a ramp to introduce material into chopped or slicing discs. A "pusher" is provided, whose size slides through the feed tube, thereby protecting the user's fingers. Almost all modern food processors have safety devices that can prevent the motor from running if the bowl is not properly fixed to the base or if the lid is not properly fixed to the bowl.1
