How big are ceiling fan capacitors?

The starting capacitor of ceiling fans is generally 2--2.5uF, and that of ordinary floor fans is generally 1.5uF (lower power). This has to do with power and speed. The decorative ceiling fan in use has a lower speed than traditional industrial ceiling fans, small air volume, and can rotate forward and reverse. Its function is mainly to adjust the air flow. According to foreign reports, decorating a ceiling fan in an air-conditioned room saves 15%-35% energy than not using a ceiling fan.

The capacitor of the electric fan is generally about 1.2~2.5 uf, and the specific situation is determined by the power and speed of the electric fan. If it is a decorative electric fan used at home, you can choose a capacitor of 1.2-1.5, which has a small rotation speed and a small air volume, which can adjust the air flow in the room. However, when using an industrial ceiling fan in a factory or office, you can choose a capacitor of about 2.5uf, which has a fast rotation speed and a large air volume. When replacing capacitors, you need to choose products with the same specifications. After all, its size affects the use of a ceiling fan. If the capacitor is too large, although it starts quickly, the current through the motor is very large and the temperature rises very high, which will not only shorten the life of the motor, but also burn the motor. Conversely, too small capacitors cannot be selected.

What is the difference between an industrial electric fan and a general household electric fan? In terms of processing technology, the fan blades of industrial electric fans generally use aviation magnesium-aluminum alloy materials. The material has the advantages of low relative density, high compressive strength, large elastic modulus, good heat dissipation, good shock resistance, and the working ability of anti-shock load exceeds that of magnesium-aluminum alloy profiles, and is resistant to organic compounds and alkali corrosion. The impellers of ordinary household electric fans are made of iron or plastic, and the quality is much smaller than that of large industrial ceiling fans.

The electrostatic capacity of electric fans varies according to the size of the motor, there are 1 microfarad and 2 microfarads, generally 2 microfarads, and the starting electrostatic capacity of electric fans is usually 2~2.5uF.

The general motor power is 65-100W, and the withstand voltage suitable for 2~4uf capacitors is preferably 650V. 80W ceiling fans are recommended to use 3uF/400v starting capacitors, 1.2~1.5UF capacitors can also be used for 30w~60w electric fans.
