AC motor overview

Due to the tremendous development of AC power systems, AC motors have become the most commonly used motors. This paper first introduces the classification and principle of AC motors, and then explains the advantages and disadvantages of AC motors and the types of AC motors. Finally, the power supply and frequency control of AC motors are introduced. Let's take a look at the small series.

AC motor overview

Due to the tremendous development of AC power systems, AC motors have become the most commonly used motors. Compared with DC motors, AC motors have no commutator (see commutation of DC motors), so they are simple in structure, easy to manufacture, and relatively robust. They are easy to make motors with high speed, high voltage, high current and large capacity. AC motor power covers a wide range, from a few watts to hundreds of thousands of kilowatts, or even millions of kilowatts. In the early 1980s, the largest steam turbine generator had reached 1.5 million kilowatts.

Advantages and disadvantages of AC motors

AC motor advantages

1. Simple structure.

2. Low manufacturing costs.

3. Maintenance and repair is simple and economical.

AC motor shortcomings

It can't complete the speed regulation itself, and it needs to use the frequency conversion equipment to realize the speed change.

What kind of AC motor is divided into _ AC motor classification? _ AC motor power supply and frequency control
