This type of precision industrial equipment motor is one Shaded-pole asynchronous motor,which is a single-phase asynchronous motor that produces a rotating magnetic field and starting torque by using a short-circuited winding over a portion of the magnetic pole.

The stators are mostly of the salient pole type (see synchronous generator). A central winding, namely the main winding, is arranged on the magnetic pole. In the pole arc 1/3 ~ 1/2 open a small slot, into the copper short circuit winding, the part of the magnetic pole covered up, so called covered pole asynchronous motor.
