For a long time, foreign motor companies have dominated the high-end motor sector, including professional auto parts suppliers such as ZF, Continental and Bosch. Taiwan's Tomita Motor Co., Ltd. is the exclusive supplier of Tesla's automotive motors and supplies stator and rotor silicon steel sheets for AC motors to the BMW MiniE models. In 2013, Tomita Motor supplied a total of 26,000 drive motors to Tesla. In 2015, the output exceeded 50,000 units. In 2016, it broke through 80,000 units. With the official launch of MODEL3, the exclusive supplier of the motor, Tomita Motor, will benefit deeply. .

2. Analysis of electronic control industry

The electric motor controller controls the torque, the speed and the steering. On the one hand, it can improve the driving control level of the electric vehicle, ensure the efficient and stable operation of the electric vehicle, and increase the mileage of the electric vehicle. In the field of new energy vehicles, the motor control system IGBT is used in the inverter, accounting for 40-50% of the total controller cost, and is the electronic control core module.

The IGBT module is used as a high-power high-frequency switch in the drive of new energy vehicles. It has extremely high requirements on various performance indicators and stricter requirements on reliability. Its cost can account for 10% of the cost of new energy vehicles. Most of the power components such as IGBTs in the mainland rely on imports, 90% mainly rely on imports, and the import substitution space is huge. Japanese and German companies dominate the world, Japanese, Mitsubishi and Fuji and other Japanese companies are strong, and the German Infineon is also one of the world's leading IGBT companies.

3. Industry status

From 2014 to 2016, the number of new energy vehicle motor installed capacity in China increased from 72,000 units to 562,000 units. As of the end of 2016, there were 198 new energy car drive motor suppliers, an increase of 52 from 2015, but most market participants. The scale is small. Motor electronic control manufacturers can be divided into three types: OEMs, traditional parts companies and professional motor electronic control companies. At present, there are three ways for the main motor electronic control manufacturers to lay out the motor electronic control system: one is the self-built motor electronic control of the vehicle enterprise, the second is the enterprise with the experience of motor production in other fields, and the last is the motor enterprise established specifically for the electric vehicle.
