Because the torque motor has a large impedance; its stall current is small, and forced air is used at the same time, so it can meet the stall request within a certain period of time. The allowable stall time should be calibrated according to the nameplate. If a longer stall time is required, a larger torque motor can be used to obtain the terminal voltage of the torque motor.
Other torque motors can also be flexibly applied according to their various characteristics. For example, they have the characteristics of DC series-excited motors, which can partially replace the use of DC motors. For example, according to the high resistance characteristics of the rotor, the starting (blocking) torque is large. It is applied in the opening and closing gate (valve) door and the drag system with large resistance torque; it can also be used to make the starting (blocking) torque large, the starting (blocking) current is small, and the mechanical strength of the solid rotor is high.
