Permanent magnet pole
NdFeB is the best permanent magnet material at present. The magnetic force is very strong and the coercive force is very high. The permanent magnet motor with good performance mostly uses NdFeB as the magnetic pole. The magnetic pole is fixed in the casing, and the casing is a yoke to provide a magnetic circuit for the motor.

The permanent magnet motor does not need less excitation current to generate heat, but the casing is mostly sealed against iron powder. Generally, multiple heat sinks are used to dissipate heat through the outer periphery of the casing; the end cover extends to the outside of the casing and serves as a machine foot. The stator base of the motor is fixed to the motor by the machine foot.

The rotor of a permanent magnet DC motor consists of a rotor core, a rotor winding, a commutator, and a rotating shaft. It is the same as the rotor of an ordinary DC motor. For details, please refer to the DC motor section of the motor course.

The current is connected to the rotor winding through a brush. The four-pole motor generally has four sets of brushes, which are mounted together on the brush holder to form a brush assembly. The figure below shows the relative position of the rotor to the brush assembly.
