Heat resistance of insulating materials
Since the motor inevitably generates heat due to loss during operation, the insulating material used must have good heat resistance. The heat resistance of the insulating material directly determines the allowable temperature rise of the motor. According to the heat-resistant insulating material, it is divided into seven grades. Each heat-resisting grade corresponds to a certain limit use temperature. Below this temperature, the insulation material can be used for a long time without affecting its performance. In addition, the insulating material should have good thermal conductivity and a large heat capacity. Large motor coils also often require that the linear expansion coefficient of the insulating material be close to that of the conductive material to avoid insulation breakage during thermal expansion and contraction.
Mechanical properties of insulating materials
When the coil and winding are in the process of dressing, forming and bulking, and when the motor is running, the insulation will be subjected to various mechanical stresses, thus placing corresponding mechanical performance requirements on the insulating material, such as tensile, compressive and bending resistance. , shear resistance, impact strength, etc. If the mechanical properties of the insulating material are poor, it is easy to cause a significant drop in electrical performance due to mechanical influence. There are other requirements for insulating materials, such as low hygroscopicity; resistance to acid, alkali, and oil; good acidity or other substances that are easily ionized; and ease of processing.
