How To Repair The Motor Base?

how to repair the motor base?

The motor base (also called the casing) is used to support the stator core and the fixed motor, and the two end faces are also used to fix the end cover and the bearing.

Due to improper manufacturing, handling, use and dismantling, it often causes damage to the machine base and affects the normal operation of the motor. Common faults in the base are deformation, cracking, damage to the heat sink, and damage at the stop. In the event of the above failure, the motor will vibrate, broom, temperature rise and sound due to unsatisfactory operation, and it will cause difficulties in disassembly and assembly of the motor.

The foot of the motor frame is made of cast iron. If the installation is not smooth, the motor will vibrate when it is running, or it may be caused by mechanical force to crack or break the base of the base. When the base of the base is cracked or broken, it can be repaired by welding with cast iron electrodes. In order to remove the internal stress of the cast iron before welding, the welding position should be heated to about 600 °C with a blowtorch, and then naturally cooled after welding.

If the broken part is close to the motor core, or both sides of the foot are broken, if the welding of the stator winding is damaged by electric welding, the angle iron should be used for repair. According to the size of the foot, select the corresponding angle iron, and process it into the shape of the foot, and then fasten it to the casing of the motor with bolts.

When there is a crack in the casing, the iron core inside will be loose, and it can be repaired by electric welding. However, the crack should be tightened before welding to prevent deformation of the casing after welding. When welding, it should be noted that the position of the iron core cannot be offset, and the iron core is not loosened in the casing. In order to eliminate the internal stress of the casing, the casing should be placed in straw ash or drying room to make it slowly cool after repair welding.

For the crack of the casing, tin-lead alloy repair welding can be used. The tin-lead alloy is made by placing 73% tin and 27% lead in a crucible or iron vessel, heating and softening, uniformly mixing, and then casting into a slender electrode. Use the chisel to remove the crack from the crack of the casing and remove the iron filings and oil stains. Then use the torch to heat the crack to about 100 °C to repair the welding with tin-lead alloy welding rod. In the repair welding, the rust of the groove is removed by using water or other strong oxidizing agent, and then a small amount of tin-lead alloy is used for the bottoming. After the tin-lead alloy is combined with the cast iron material of the groove, the welding is performed until the welding is completed.
