Regular maintenance of your cordless vacuum cleaner is the easiest and most cost-effective way to keep it in peak condition. This will not only maximize the effectiveness of your vacuum cleaner, make cleaning easier, avoid premature damage and scrapping of the machine, but also contribute to environmental sustainability.
Under normal maintenance conditions, cordless vacuum cleaners can last up to eight years. However, many vacuum cleaners lose suction power when left unused for too long, which reduces their cleaning power. Reduced suction power may simply be caused by blockage, poor maintenance and care.
Clean the suction head/brush accessories regularly
To maintain the suction power of your vacuum cleaner, keep the vacuum cleaner suction head/brush accessories clean. When you notice dust accumulation, wipe the suction head and hose with a rag. Pay special attention to the electric brush, which can easily get clogged with hair and fabric, hindering rotation and damaging bearings. To unblock, remove the removable roller on the part and cut off the knotted part with scissors, being careful not to cut the bristles.
Check the drive belt
The drive belt is a rubber band that connects the vacuum's brush to the motor bearings, allowing it to rotate. Make sure there is no slack so your vacuum can grab all the debris with fewer passes. If it needs to be replaced, you can purchase a new one and follow the instructions to replace it yourself.
Empty the dust box or dust bag
One of the easiest ways to improve the suction power of a vacuum cleaner is to empty the dust box or dust bag. The dust box needs to have enough space for air to flow, otherwise it will easily become clogged and affect the suction power of the vacuum cleaner. Check your dust box regularly and empty or replace it when it is about 70% or 80% full. If you have pets at home or live in a large environment, we recommend that you do this frequently.
