First, The Linear Motor Market Challenge

First, the linear motor market challenge

Linear motors are still in the early stages of development in China, and currently face severe market challenges.

1. The products are uneven

In response to the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan”, domestic emerging small-brand linear motor manufacturers have sprung up, and foreign brand manufacturers have increased their investment in the domestic market. However, there is currently no uniform standard for planning and management. Whether it is the structure of the product, the appearance, or the technical parameters of the product, the suppliers' respective styles are presented. This situation is not conducive to the development of various businesses. For example, in the event of a problem, a special person must be dispatched to solve the problem on the spot.

2. The market puts higher demands on product functions

With the rapid development of various industries in China's industrial field, the quality of the products produced is getting higher and higher, and the requirements for the performance, speed and precision of the machine are gradually improved, especially in the numerical control machine tools, semiconductor integrated equipment and other machinery. It is obvious. The original servo-screw combination was also due to the gradual inability to meet these requirements, which led to the rapid growth of linear motors. Linear motors need to be continuously improved in performance, speed, precision, etc., especially domestic brands.

3. Domestic control technology needs to be improved

The development of linear motors abroad is earlier than domestic ones. At present, it has achieved a high level of application in processing equipment such as precision machine tools, but the domestic linear motors are still in their infancy. Domestic technicians are not familiar with the application of linear motors and have no rich experience. On the other hand, domestic control technology has a certain gap compared with foreign countries. Therefore, the current stage is mainly to select the linear motor of foreign brands as the mainstream trend.

4. The price is too high

Foreign brands account for more than 60% of the domestic linear motor market, such as: Yake Beth, Shangyin, Kollmorgen and so on. Domestic brands are numerous and mixed, and they are not outstanding. Although the price is much lower than imported products, it still needs to be improved in terms of technology, manufacturing process and quality, and has not been widely recognized by mass manufacturers. Therefore, the major domestic customers are mainly to purchase foreign brands. The majority of foreign-funded linear motors are imported, so prices have remained high. Linear motors are much more expensive than combinations of servo motors and ball screws. This limits the needs of some manufacturers.
