Customized Printer Motor

What motor is used for custom printer motor?  In general printers use stepper motors.

Laser printers, inkjet printers basically use dc brushless motor (resist may also use brush motor), needle printers generally use stepper motor, needle printer size is small with permanent magnet stepper motor, paper size is large with hybrid stepper motor.  Stepper motors do not need feedback to control the position and speed, the price is cheap, but the speed can not run up, so high speed printer will use servo motor, not so high speed stepper motor can be used.

Differences between the two:

1, different control precision:

The step angles of two-phase hybrid stepping motor are generally 3.6° and 1.8°, and the step angles of five-phase hybrid stepping motor are generally 0.72° and 0.36°.  There are also some high-performance stepper motors with smaller step angles.  For example, a step motor used in slow wire machine tools produced by Sitong company, its step Angle is 0.09°.

The control precision of ac servo motor is guaranteed by rotary encoder at the rear end of motor shaft.  Take Panasonic full digital AC servo motor as an example, for the motor with standard 2500 line encoder, due to the use of quadruple frequency technology inside the drive, its pulse equivalent is 360°/10000=0.036°.

For a motor with a 17-bit encoder, the driver makes one revolution every 217=131072 pulse motors, i.e. its pulse equivalent is 360°/131072=9.89 seconds, which is 1/655 of the pulse equivalent of a stepper motor with a step Angle of 1.8°.
