What is the peristaltic pump

The peristaltic pump consists of three parts: driver, pump head and hose. Fluid is isolated in the pump pipe, pump can be replaced quickly, fluid can go the wrong way, can be dry operation, low maintenance costs constitute the main competitive advantage of the peristaltic pump.

How it works: A peristaltic pump is like squeezing a fluid-filled hose with a finger clip, sliding the inner fluid forward with the finger forward. The peristaltic pump is also the principle that the roller only replaces the fingers. The fluid is pumped by alternately squeezing and releasing the elastic delivery hose of the pump. Just like squeezing the hose with two fingers to clip it, as the fingers move, a negative pressure forms in the tube, and the liquid flows accordingly.

A peristaltic pump is a section of pump tube between two rollers to forms a "pillow" fluid. The volume of the "pillow" depends on the inner diameter of the pump tube and the geometric characteristics of the rotor. The flow rate depends on the product of the rotation speed of the pump head, the size of the "pillow", and the number of the "pillow" generated by each turn of the rotor. Pillows are generally of constant sizes (except when pumping particularly sticky fluids).

Comparing the pump with the same rotor diameter, the pump with a large "pillow" volume also delivers a large fluid volume for each turn, but also produces a large pulsation. This is similar to the case of the membrane valves. The pump that produces a small pillow volume carries less fluid at each turn; and forms fast, and continuously makes fluid flow more smoothly. This is similar to gear pumps.
