What is an induction motor and what is its specific principle?

An induction motor is an electric motor that works based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. It is a rotary motor with no mechanical contacts inside, so it has the advantages of high reliability, low noise, and easy maintenance. It is widely used in various mechanical systems.

Induction motor consists of two parts: rotor and stator. The rotor usually has a fan-shaped arrangement of copper bars, and the stator has coils that are connected to the power supply. When current flows through the stator coil, a certain magnetic field will be generated. This magnetic field will penetrate the copper bar and cause an induced current in the copper bar. The magnetic field generated by this induced current interacts with the stator magnetic field, causing the rotor to rotate. Usually, the number of magnetic poles of the coils on the stator is an integral multiple of the number of magnetic poles of the rotor copper strips, which ensures that the frequency of rotor rotation is synchronized with the frequency of the power supply.

The whole process can be summarized into three stages: three-phase alternating current is input to the coil terminals on the stator to generate a rotating magnetic field (i.e., a fixed magnetic field). This fixed magnetic field generates an induced current in the rotor, causing a magnetic field (i.e., rotating magnetic field) to be generated inside the rotor. This magnetic field interacts with the fixed magnetic field, causing the rotor to rotate, and finally reaches a stable working state.

The advantages of induction motors are their simple structure, high reliability, long service life, and the fact that they have no mechanical contact parts that require maintenance. It saves more energy than other electric motors, reduces the number of simulation stages and reduces the risk of failure. It has high starting force and wide speed adjustment range, which can meet different use needs.

Induction motors are currently widely used in various fields, including transmission machinery, industrial production equipment, home appliances, automotive fields and other fields. It is also one of the important driving components in new energy vehicles, which can greatly improve the economy and environmental performance of the vehicle.
