Traditional motor and transmission system

Frameless ddr motor

The frameless direct drive rotary motors are the "grandfather" of ddr technology, and they undoubtedly offer the most compact mechanical servo solutions available today. The frameless direct drive rotary motor uses a separate rotor and stator without the use of bearings. These parts become an integral part of the machine and include the necessary feedback devices. They are ideal for applications where machine space is limited or the total weight has a critical impact.

These motors are inherently custom made and therefore more expensive, requiring weeks and even months of design and integration time. In addition, in the event of a system failure, the removal or replacement of the motor or feedback device is extremely complicated. Therefore, frameless ddr technology is not suitable for every application, its most widely used in airborne and ground vehicles, such as night vision devices, radar systems and weapon system aiming control, and those for size, weight and / Or high-end industrial applications with high performance requirements, such as robots or precision grinders.

Closed ddr motor

The (closed) direct drive rotary motor with housing is a complete solution for integrating the rotor, stator and feedback device that is aligned at the factory into a housing with precision bearings. Closed direct drive rotary motors are ideal for applications where the load can ride across the motor bearings. For motors that already use bearings, the user needs to connect the motor to the load or have three or more bearings aligned, which can be a cumbersome and time consuming task. Therefore, closed ddr motors are commonly used for indexing and rate turret applications.
