Bosch is the mainstream supplier of this start-stop system. The system includes a high-enhanced starter, an enhanced battery (generally using AGM batteries), a controllable generator, an engine ECU with integrated start/stop coordination procedures, and more.
This start-stop system has fewer parts and is easy to install, and the components of the system are the same size as the traditional components, so it can be directly equipped to various vehicles.
At present, there are many models in the world that are equipped with Bosch Stop-Start system, including BMW 1, 3, 5, X3, Volkswagen Passat, Golf, Mercedes A, B, C, E series (partial), Audi A6. , A8, Renault Mee, Opel Corsa, Astra, etc. Beginning in 2009, some Chinese automakers also cooperated with Bosch to match the Stop-Start system. The Changan CX30, which was launched in the first half of 2010, matched the system. The independent brands such as Great Wall, Geely, SAIC and Chery have also launched matching models.

The integrated starter/generator is a synchronous motor that is excited by a permanent magnet rotor and a single-tooth stator that integrates the drive unit into the hybrid.
Valeo was developed into the i-Start system (i-Stop-StartSystem), which was first applied to the PSA (Peugeot-Citroen Group) e-HDi. The electronic control unit of the i-Start system is integrated inside the generator. When the red light stops, the engine stops. As soon as the gear is released or the brake pedal is released, the engine will start automatically.
As of now, Valeo has equipped the i-Start system for more than 50 models. The French PSA Group, Mercedes-Benz and Smart are the main customers of the Valeo Stop-Start system.
