Saw machine is a saw as a tool, through the strip saw or band saw reciprocating motion, or disc saw rotation movement to saw and cut the wood. Common saws include belt saws and circular saws.

(1) The fuselage. The role of the fuselage is to support the upper and lower saw wheels, connecting the parts of the saw machine into a whole. Generally made of cast steel or cast iron, should be firmly combined with the foundation, the lowest as low center of gravity so that the body has enough vibration resistance and stability. The fuselage column has vertical guide rails for the saw wheel bracket to lift and fall. The fuselage is as closed as possible.
(2) Saw wheel. The saw wheel has two upper and lower wheels, which is used to hang the saw blade. The lower saw wheel is an active wheel, driven by a motor through a belt drive. In order to increase the inertia of rotation to adjust the uneven load impact when sawing wood, and try to reduce the center of gravity position of the whole machine, the lower saw wheel is generally 2.5~4.5 times heavier than the upper saw wheel. The lower saw wheel is mostly the integral cast disc with a very thick wheel-spoke plate, with the take-off wheel acting, and it must undergo the static balance test after installation. The upper saw wheel is a driven wheel and is of lighter quality.
(3) Saw wheel lifting and tilt device. The device moves the upper silver wheel through the lifting mechanism, adjust the center distance of the saw wheel, and tilt the upper saw wheel slightly in order to handle the saw blade and adjust the tension of the saw blade. Small belt saw is manual, large belt saw is mobile. Most belt saws use heavy hammer balancing devices to balance the tension of the saw blade.
(4) Saw card device. Saw card is the guide device of the saw machine, which is to keep the saw blade of the saw cut wood segment straight and prevent the vibration of the saw blade due to high speed movement. The function of the pulley behind the saw card is to guide the saw blade, and when the pulley resists the back of the saw blade to prevent the blade from falling off. The lower saw card is directly fixed to the bottom of the workbench, and the upper saw card is mounted on the fuselage arm frame, which can move up and down the fuselage slide along with the size of the wood. The gap between the saw card and the blade must be moderate, too tight will make the blade friction and heat, too loose will lose effect.
(5) Brake device. Its function is to overcome the motion inertia of the saw wheel after the motor stops turning. The device mostly uses a friction brake mode, with a handle or foot pedal with a lever or eccentric mechanism for control.
(6) Auxiliary facilities. The operation object of the large belt saw machine is a large and heavy log body, and the ancillary facilities are sports car, log loading device, wood turning device, unloading device, etc. Small belt saws generally only have the main engine.
