How to repair a fan's shaded pole motor?

The fan is a motor with a hub and blades, along the periphery of the hub and evenly distribute the slots, insert the blades into the slots, and make the blades and the fan hub integrated by permanent connection methods such as welding, gluing, etc. The overall balance of the motor fan is good, which can save the work time required to adjust the balance, the weight of the fan is 30% lighter than that of the bolted fan, and the vibration and noise of the new running motor are reduced.

How capacitor motors work

The capacitive motor consists of a stator and a squirrel-cage rotor, the stator is embedded with a primary winding and a secondary winding, and the main winding and the auxiliary winding are arranged in space with 900 electrical angles to each other. When the primary and secondary windings are connected to a single-phase power supply, the primary winding generates a pulsating magnetic field, and the secondary winding, under the action of a capacitor, generates a pulsating magnetic field at an angle of approximately 90° to generate the phase of the primary winding. These two pulsating magnetic fields combine to form a rotating magnetic field that drives the rotor to start. Since the capacitor is always connected to the circuit when it is running, this motor is called a capacitor running motor, in fact, it is a two-phase motor.

Wiring method of electric fan motor

The wiring method of the fan motor, the ordinary fan motor leads out 5 wires, which are black wire, red wire, white wire, blue wire, yellow wire, any one of the power wires is usually the brown wire, which is connected to the special fan motor. The black wire, the blue wire in the power wire is connected to the fan switch, the red wire white wire and the blue wire in the motor are connected to the three gears of the gear switch respectively. The rest of the yellow wire from the motor goes to the capacitor, the other goes to the main wire and the black wire, red to first, blue to second, white to third, yellow to black, and yellow to green.

Maintenance of electric fan motor will not turn

The main reasons why the motor does not rotate are: open winding, lack of oil shaft, abnormal capacitance, etc. According to the maintenance practice of electric fans, the latter two faults account for the majority. For non-rotating electric fans, the repair steps are to test the plug, rotate the motor, measure the capacitance, and then reprocess. The first step is to measure the operation of the electric fan and the speed regulating winding. First, the electric fan timer spins, and when a click is heard, the timer is normal. If there are no ticks, the timer is broken. If there is no resistance value, the motor winding may have a blown circuit. If there is a thermal fuse on the motor, it may be an open circuit of the thermal fuse. You should check the motor. If it is only an open circuit, the short-circuited thermal fuse can return to normal. The gear switches are all broken, but it's very unlikely.

The second step is to check whether the shaft is fixed, open the fan cover, and turn the motor shaft by hand. If it does not turn, it means that the fixed shaft of the motor is seriously damaged, and the motor should be disassembled. To remove oil, rust from the front and rear bushings and motor shaft, then de-oil the front and rear bushings, most electric fans will do the trick.

The third step is to measure the starting capacitance. If the motor shaft rotates flexibly, the starting capacitance of the electric fan motor should be measured. Use a multimeter to measure the resistance values of the starting capacitors at both ends of the motor and the entire motor, starting and speed regulating windings, namely black and Resistance value of the yellow wire.

in conclusion

Electric fans generally use single-phase AC motors or shaded-pole motors. Covered-pole motors have simple structure, easy production, convenient maintenance, and low cost. However, due to the advantages of small starting torque, poor overload capacity, and low efficiency, they are only used for small desktops. electric fan. At present, most electric fans are composed of capacitive motors with high power, good starting performance, high efficiency, strong overload capacity and stable operation.
