How to make an electric motor at home

To DIY the motor, first understand what the motor is: the motor is a rotary electric machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. It mainly consists of an electromagnet winding or distributed stator for generating a magnetic field and a rotating armature or rotor. Under the action of the rotating magnetic field of the stator winding, it has a current passing through the armature squirrel cage aluminum frame and is rotated by the action of the magnetic field.

Tools require iron, copper wire, small iron bars (smooth), copper foil (for brushes), soldering iron, tin bars, 1.5V battery 1 section, screwdriver, hammer and other tools.

1. Use a piece of iron to bend into the frame and body shown in the figure, punch holes in the base, and fix the rack for spare.

2. Mount the bracket, brush and small iron rod on the base. Wound copper wire, 118 turns of the rotor, 210 turns of the stator

3. Wrap the tape on the rotating shaft, stick the two cylindrical copper pieces on the top, the copper piece is about one millimeter apart, and the two sides of the rotor are wound around 118 copper wires (outer insulation), and then the two ends are respectively welded on the copper piece.

4. Two brushes are pressed on the copper sheet

5. The two ends of the stator copper wire are respectively soldered on the brush; at the same time, the two wires for connecting with the power source are taken out at the welding place.

6. Connect the power supply and the small motor can be turned.
