How to maintain linear motors

Linear motors are also referred to as linear motors, linear motors, and push rod motors. It is an electric drive that converts electrical energy directly into linear motion mechanical energy. It can eliminate a large number of intermediate transmission mechanisms, speed up the system reflection speed, improve system accuracy, so it is widely used.

Linear motor has compact structure, low power loss, high fast-moving speed, high acceleration, and high-speed linear motor. By directly driving the load, high-precision position positioning control from high speed to low speed can be realized.

Linear motor motor has the advantages of low failure, maintenance-free, long life, etc. However, if the environment is not handled properly, many problems will occur. How to effectively suppress these problems has become one of the considerations of many manufacturers. Maintenance of linear motors:

1. Moisture: Moisture itself can erode motor components. When the moisture and airborne particulate contaminants are mixed, it is a fatal injury to the motor, further shortening the life of the linear motor.

2. Power supply problems: Harmonic currents caused by high frequency switching and pulse width modulation may cause voltage and current distortion, overload and overheating. This shortens the life of motors and components and increases long-term equipment costs. In addition, the surge itself can cause the voltage to be too high or too low. To solve this problem, we must continue to pay attention to and check the power supply.

3. Dust and particulate matter: All kinds of suspended particles in dust and polluted air will enter the inside of the motor and cause various hazards. Corrosive particles can wear parts, and conductive particles can interfere with component currents. Once the particles block the cooling channel, they will accelerate the overheating. Obviously, choosing the right IP protection level can alleviate the problem to some extent.

4, overheating: overheating is the biggest culprit of motor failure. In fact, the other four reasons listed in this article are on the list, in part because they generate heat. In theory, for every 10 °C increase in heat, the life of the winding insulation is halved. Therefore, ensuring that the motor is operating at the right temperature is the best way to extend its life.

5, improper lubrication: lubrication is a matter of degree. Excessive lubrication or insufficient lubrication can cause harm. Also, pay attention to contamination problems in the lubricant and whether the lubricant used is suitable for the task at hand.
