How to determine the voltage, current and use of stepper motor driver
How should the voltage and current of the stepper motor driver be determined? How to use a stepper motor driver? Engineers who specialize in selling stepper motor drivers believe that two solutions for voltage and current are recommended to determine the stepper motor driver.
1. Determination of stepper motor driver voltage
Hybrid stepper motor driver power supply voltage is generally a wide range (such as the IM483 supply voltage is 12 ~ 48VDC), the power supply voltage is usually selected according to the motor's operating speed and response requirements.
If the motor has a higher operating speed or a faster response, the voltage is also higher, but note that the ripple of the supply voltage cannot exceed the maximum input voltage of the drive, otherwise the drive may be damaged.
2. Determination of the current of the stepper motor driver
The supply current is generally determined by the output phase current I of the driver. If a linear power supply is used, the power supply current can generally take 1.1 to 1.3 times of I; if a switching power supply is used, the power supply current can generally take 1.5 to 2.0 times of I.
With stepper motor driver: According to the current of the motor, a driver with greater than or equal to this current is used. A subdivided drive can be used if low vibration or high precision is required. For high torque motors, use high voltage drives as much as possible to achieve good high speed performance.
