Five precautions for 12 volt dc motor brush sparks
(1) Add a commutating pole and cancel it by commutating the pole potential.
(2) The brush should be reasonably selected, and the contact resistance between the brush and the surface of the commutator should be as large as possible, and the wear resistance of the brush should be good. Therefore, in DC motors, electrochemical graphite brushes are generally used. If the motor is difficult to commutate, a split brush should be used.
(3) The pressure of the brush should be adjusted well. If the pressure is too tight, the wear of the brush and the commutator will be aggravated. However, if the pressure is too loose, the contact between the brush and the commutator will be poor, which may cause some problems. Moreover, the inner surface of the brush holder should be smooth and flat, without problems such as burrs, and the inner hole roughness should be less than 2um.
(4) The material and model of the brush should be selected according to the operating conditions of the generator. In addition, there are parameters and other aspects that cannot be ignored.
(5) The number of positive and negative brushes should be equal, and during the installation process, the brush distance between the brushes should be equal, and the contact between the brush and the collector ring should be good.
