(1) Armature core

Generally, the armature core is formed by the blanking of 0.5mm thick silicon steel sheet to reduce eddy current loss and hysteresis loss in the armature core during motor operation.The laminated core is fixed on the shaft or rotor bracket.The outer circle of the core has an armature slot, the slot is embedded in the discharge armature winding.

(2) Armature winding

The role of armature winding is to generate electromagnetic torque and induction electromotive force, is the key component of dc motor energy transformation, so called armature.It is composed of a number of coils (hereinafter referred to as components) connected according to a certain rule, the coil is made of high strength enameled wire or glass wire coated flat copper wire, the coils of different coils are divided into two layers embedded in the armature slot, between the coils and the core and between the upper and lower two layers of coils must be properly insulated.In order to prevent the side of the coil from being thrown out of the slot by centrifugal force, the slot is fixed with slot wedge.The end joint outside the extended slot of the coil is bound with thermosetting weft free glass tape.

(3) Commutator

In dc motor, the commutator is equipped with an electric brush, which can convert the external DC power into the alternating current in the armature coil, making the direction of electromagnetic torque constant;In a dc generator, the commutator is equipped with a brush to convert the alternating electromotive force induced in the armature coil into the direct current electromotive force derived from the positive and negative brushes.A commutator is a cylinder with many commutators, which are insulated by mica plates.

(4) Axis of rotation

The shaft plays the supporting role of the rotor rotation and needs certain mechanical strength and stiffness. It is generally made of round steel.
