1. Advantages of brushless motors

1. High efficiency and low energy consumption.

The application of brushless motors is being vigorously developed all over the world. This has a lot to do with the performance advantages of brushless itself. From the perspective of energy consumption, it is indeed an inevitable trend.

2. Low noise (mute), smooth operation.

Brushless motors have no brushes, so the sliding friction force is greatly reduced during operation, the operation is smooth, and the noise will be much lower. This is an advantage for many applications, such as home appliances, automation technology, medical equipment industries, etc. An environment that must be silent.

3. Long service life and low maintenance cost.

The structural characteristics of brushless motors affect its long life. Within the scope of reasonable use, brushless motors mostly increase maintenance costs.

4. Wide application field and good control effect.

The brushless motor contains a controller (driver), which can realize simple to complex control, and can realize various communication requirements (232, 485, can, etc.), so that in addition to satisfying many conventional mechanical actions, it can also perform complex control commands. And with the widespread use of magnetic encoders in recent years, it can replace many simple servo applications.

Second, the cognitive misunderstanding of brushless motor

1. The motor will not be damaged.

Wrong, brushless motors can also fail. For example, the coil is short-circuited, dirt enters the motor and the motor is overloaded and the temperature is too high, resulting in demagnetization of the magnet. Grasp the rated current and rated power of the motor, and keep the motor operating under the rated parameter value. If the rated parameter value is exceeded, the motor will be overloaded, overheated, demagnetized, etc.

2. The torque and speed are the same as those of the brushed motor

Wrong, still have to take one of torque and speed. If one index is high, then the other must be greatly reduced. This is why more than one brushless motor should be prepared. No matter what kind of motor, you can't hope for infinitely high speed and infinite torque. There must be only one of the two. For automated machinery, the highest speed should be obtained while ensuring sufficient torque. However, for other brushless and brushed motors of the same grade, the brushless torque is much higher at the same speed; the speed is much higher at the same torque. All in all, the speed × torque, the product of brushless is higher than that of brushed, mainly because its efficiency is higher than that of brushed.

3. Most maintenance

Wrong, the motor must be cleaned, the bearings replaced, and the magnet magnetized to maintain the best performance. Any damage to the motor will make the motor unable to work.
