A complete guide to vacuum cleaner maintenance: keep your cleaning tool 'powerful' for a long time

The vacuum cleaner is a powerful assistant for household cleaning, but if it is neglected, the suction power will decrease, the odor will spread, and even premature shutdown may follow. Mastering scientific maintenance techniques can not only extend its service life, but also ensure that every cleaning is efficient and thorough.

Daily cleaning: basic maintenance is essential

Dumping the dust box/changing the dust bag:
Immediately empty the dust box or replace the full dust bag after each use (the dust box needs to be cleaned when it is more than half full).

Cleaning the dust box: After emptying the dust, wipe the inside with a dry soft brush or a slightly damp cloth, and make sure to dry it thoroughly.
The dust bag cannot be reused, and it should be replaced when it is full.

Cleaning the filter:
The filter is the core of the vacuum cleaner! Dirt will significantly reduce the suction power and affect the air.

Pre-filter (to protect the motor): Remove it every week and pat it or use a soft brush to remove dust. Do not wash it with water (unless the manual explicitly allows it).

HEPA filter: Clean it monthly, the method is the same as above. Some washable models must be completely dried for 24-48 hours.

Cleaning the roller brush:
After each use, use small scissors or tools to remove hair and thread ends wrapped around the roller brush.
Check the bristles for wear regularly, and replace them if they are excessively worn.

Check the suction head and pipe:
After use, check whether the suction head (especially the floor brush) is blocked by hair or debris.
Occasionally check whether there is a large piece of foreign matter blocking the soft/hard pipe, and carefully clear it if necessary.
