Digital Motor Factory Upgrade 40% Production Efficiency
- Aug 17, 2017 -

SIEMENS uses its German electric motor plant as a platform to demonstrate digital manufacturing, reducing production time by 40%, as well as a 50% reduction in the factory correction loop, lifting the ramp time of the new machine 50%.

SIEMENS has been manufacturing the industrial engine for 80 years and is currently using some of the latest technology to improve and upgrade its manufacturing process.

The factory director Peter Deml explained, "in the process of digital factory, at first we focus on the use of digital to create consistency in the CAD-CAM processing chain, including tool and NC program management system, previously run independently and equipped with synchronous digital interface. In addition, we introduced new tools that optimized the NC program and made various design adjustments."

SIEMENS is using the factory as a platform for digital technology display, visitors can see how SIEMENS achieved new technologies, how to improve production efficiency. SIEMENS plans to use digital platforms and application examples to demonstrate to customers (machine manufacturers and operators) the benefits of digital technology provided by SIEMENS.

Digital solutions will allow companies to stay ahead of their competitors and become more competitive in future global competition.
